I am passionate about bringing the classroom outside and bringing experiences from all around the world to our students.
After living in Rwanda during a university term, I began a decade of cross cultural work running MCC's International Volunteer Exchange Program. This position allowed me to travel the world while supporting young adults as they lived and volunteered cross culturally. Six years ago I completed teacher's college at the University of Toronto and served as the interim country director of MCC's Burkina Faso Program. My undergrad is from the University of Waterloo, and I hold a Master's in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Ryerson University.
I believe that the well being of a child's mind, body and spirit are all connected. I coached gymnastics all through highschool, loved working at Christian camps during the summers, and have taught outdoor education to city kids in Toronto.
About Me: On a summer weekend I love jumping into a canoe and exploring the wilderness. In the winter you will find me bundled up pretending that it is warm enough to enjoy spending time near a fire or on a walk.
I was one of those lucky/unlucky pandemic brides. Joel and I got married and moved to Manitoba in August 2020. We also joined the puppy bandwagon as we welcomed a little guy named Theo into our home this past fall.
